Katrina was born in 1984 in the month of July. She belongs to a mixed origin with an Indian father and British mother. She was raised in Hong Kong which is also her birth place. Her father was Kashmiri and his name is Muhammad Kaif. Her mother Suzanne was a British lawyer. Unfortunately her parents divorced when Katrina was young. She has seven siblings. They moved to various places with their mother and later on settled in England. Before coming to India, she resided in England for 3 years.

She began modeling at a tender age of 14. She started off by posing for a jewelry line in London which was her first full-fledged modeling contract. Later on she modeled for some other campaigns in London.

She received her ticket to Bollywood with the film Boom, produced by Kaizad Gustad. The movie turned to be a Box Office failure and not many of the other filmmakers were really interested in making more films with Katrina. The reason was her poor Hindi! But Katrina decided that she wants to settle down in India and become an actress and she has never looked back since.
